Anne Tarrant was raised in Oak Harbor and holds a BA in Business Administration from Washington State University. Before returning home to Whidbey, she held positions in Marketing and Sales and was the Director of Northwest Residential Sales and Installation for a national alarm systems company. She currently operates a consulting business specializing in strategic planning, merger and acquisition transactions, and corporate turn around situations. Other community passions included serving on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Island County. She and her husband started and managed the Habitat for Humanity Restore in Oak Harbor and along with countless volunteers have funded the building of 2 additional homes each year. Currently she serves on the board of Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor and is active in the Polly Harpole Hospital Guild and her church. Her valuable experience in business strategic planning, volunteer management, and consensus building will be crucial to the ongoing success of Whidbey General Hospital. Commissioner Tarrant will stand for election in November 2009 having been selected to complete the term of retired Commissioner Kristy Miller.
