To emphasize: The most important thing in disaster preparedness is PREPARATION.

If you are interested in becoming more involved within your community disaster preparedness, we suggest contacting the Island County chapter of the Medical Reserve Corps, Citizen Corps or your local chapter of the American Red Cross. In the critical initial stages of a major disaster we are our only, and best resourse for immediate rescue, care, and incident mitigation. Volunteer "First Responders" are a crucial link in the overall local disaster plan.
