Family Care Room

The family care room is part of inpatient hospital services and is designed to support compassionate care to the terminally ill person and his or her family. Patient care focuses on keeping the individual as comfortable as possible, and involves a multidisciplinary team including the physician, nurses, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian as indicated, and access to the visiting chaplain program. Extended visiting hours, a hide-a-bed, and other comforts are provided for family members to be with the dying person.
